I'd say a fiver to see them isn't a bad deal. I wouldn't bother with the Red Stripe though.
I won't get to see them in London. They play here the day before Danger Danger. Two nights in a row on London beer prices is stretching it a bit.

?20 for a can of beer??? Correct me if I am wrong, but in US dollars, that is over $20??? Isn't that symbol: ?, the symbol for a pound, or a quid, or almost a dollar? Am I wacky???

I MIGHT consider that price for a Westvleteren if I hadn't seen any for YEARS upon YEARS, but I am not so sure that Red Stripe is all that hard to find. Well, here in the States it isn't all that rare, maybe in the UK it is? But even rare, it surely isn't worth that price, not even in the desert.

Adam, doesn't your *ahem* lady friend have feelings on whether they're worth it? I thought she was a rather big fan.

OK Mr Carl...not quite ?20, but ?3.90 a can (hell the gig was only ?5!) what's that in $$$ bout $8 I think, it tastes like water, maybe next time a hip flask is in order! lol! I slipped down to the local after the show and had meself a couple of Guiness just to keep my body from going into spasms after the expensive watery foul! lol!
Mr Cotton...you are correct on your asumption about my other half, AND she has managed to get herself and moi on the guestlist for the Manchester show as it's her birthday, she could sell snow to eskimo's I tell ya! lol!
As for the gig WELL worth ?5, support was a band called Zen Motel, they were a real good 3 piece that sounded like a 5 piece very Backyard Babies, just kinda down n dirty low slung RNR a good little warm up well worth checking out, especially the guitarist the things he got outta that guitar...amazin!!
Then onto the Ga Ga's they put on a great set, the vocalist 'apparently' was feeling a lil ill but I couldn't tell, sporting a voice that seemed to be very well trained and crisp (not that I know ANYTHING about vocals!) with many tracks not dis-similar to the vocal style of Ville Valo of HIM, but then also mixed up with some cracking high energy tunes, complete with guitarist standing on the bar battering the crowd with some crunching power chords, not sure what the bar staff were thinkin!!!
So all in all well worth checking out and I think a band to keep watching if they get a big enough break they wil run with it and could be very successful!

Damn! ?3.90 a can!!! I thought the Astoria was bad at ?3.20!!! Glad you enjoyed the show though.
Carl, exchange rate at the moment is about ?1=$1.87 so you're talking about between 6 and 7 bucks a beer, depending on the venue.
